Black Clay, or “Barro Negro” is a traditional technique used in Oaxaca, Mexico for the production of pottery. It is a traditional, indigenous, Zapotec art form. During the process it is burnished with a stone or shard. The pottery is then embellished with intricate patterns giving it rich detail.
