This pot is handcrafted by a member of the Tarahumara indigenous group in northern Mexico. It is fired in the ground which gives it smudges that only lend to its charm. A goatskin sling is formed around the pot that protects it. The pot is 4 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter.

Tarahumara Indian artists are very accomplished in pottery, basketry, musical instruments and woodworking, weaving and embroidery.
